Hi there!

Every year on my birthday, my dad asks me how it feels to be a year older, jokingly. Most years I don't really have a defining moment that makes me feel any more mature, but I was determined to make 19 different. On by birthday I decided to start the #100HappyDays Challenge, and Come On, Choose Happy was born as a way to elaborate on the tweets I writing for it! The title, a spin-off of the Partridge Family theme song, reflects the notion that I think happiness is a choice that takes active effort to look for the good in the world. It is a matter of seeking joy in trivial moments that could be mediocre otherwise. Since then, I have begun to use this as a way of sharing the things that make me #happy, including friends, music, books, and other adventures.

The Girl Behind the Blog?

I'm Sabrina, a Nevadan who found herself going to a school in the South that is perfectly picturesque and looks like it's straight out of a movie. I am a sophomore majoring in World Politics & Diplomacy and minoring in Education & Society. I have found my home away from home in the Women's Ultimate Frisbee team, and Pi Beta Phi, a sorority that makes my heart go BOOM BOOM. My life goal is to advocate internationally for education reform and funding as a means of revolutionizing global education standards; to make it possible for children to overcome the societal obstacles –whether economic, religious, or gender related– that keep them from receiving an education.

I love learning more than most anything else: I have a passion for learning more and more about the world we live in. Other than that, my faith is central to who I am and what I believe. I don't claim to be perfect or have all of the answers, but the beauty of the Cross is that God doesn't expect us to. I love exploring and traveling, and languages and cultures and learning about people beyond trivial small talk. I grew up in the mountains, so I will always love hiking (even if I'm not good at it), skiing, and the beautiful Lake Tahoe.

The point of the #100HappyDays Challenge was to increase an outpouring of positivity on various social media platforms. So join me, as I explore the things that bring me joy and muse about how to make the world a better place. You can also catch me live on the Twitterverse (@chikieboom) and Instagram, and if you really want to get to know me check out my Pinterest.

Happily yours,
